If serving on a jury would cause undue hardship, you may request a one-time postponement to a different one-month term. However, you must still complete the Juror Qualification Questionnaire and the postponement request on the Prospective Juror (second) Questionnaire.
When requesting a postponement, you must indicate a specific month and year within the next calendar year when you can serve. Ensure your availability during that month, as second postponement requests are rarely approved.
If granted, you will receive confirmation of your excuse or postponement request within 10 days via email or U.S. Mail. If you provided an email address during the questionnaire process, confirmation will be sent to that email. Otherwise, it will be mailed to you. Until you receive official confirmation from the Court, you remain qualified to serve and must follow all reporting instructions. If you do not receive confirmation, please contact our office.
